Over the course of 2020, some people put on about 15-20 lbs due to all the hibernating and inactivity. Stuck inside and overwhelmed with boredom, people ate and stopped working out. Well, those were the lucky ones because I put on a whopping 50 lbs. Typically, the 3 months leading into the summer is usually when I start my trim down season. But when COVID hit, the gyms closed and all motivation went out the door.
I tried walking outside, which I did, but my eating and drinking nearly doubled. I usually had a vacation coming up that would motivate me to get into shape. But with no vacation plans canceled I ate like I was on vacation. My occasional/weekend wine or liquor of choice became a daily habit. And in all honesty, one glass wasn't enough. I was going through multiple bottles of wine a week.
My clothes no longer fit but I was think able to force myself into my leggings and lucky I still had some large t-shirts hanging around.
